Professor Serena Jin, President Emeritus and Honorary Fellow of HKTS, Awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation Culture" by the Translators Association of China

We are proud to announce that Professor Serena Jin, our President Emeritus and Honorary Fellow, has been awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation Culture" by the Translators Association of China.

Professor Serena Jin has had a career in education and translation spanning several decades. She earned her MA degree from Washington University in St. Louis, USA, and her Doctorate from Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

Professor Jin has not only dedicated herself to academic excellence but has also made incomparable contributions in translation practice, teaching, criticism, improvement, and promotion. She was instrumental in establishing the Translation Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and served as its head for years, committing herself to translation teaching and academic research. Professor Jin's translations and scholarly works have had a profound impact on the translation community, and the international symposiums and promotional activities she organised have greatly enhanced the academic status of translation.

Professor Jin's lifetime achievement is not only a recognition of her personal work but also an affirmation of her outstanding contribution to the field of translation in Hong Kong and beyond. We are honoured and congratulate Professor Jin on receiving this prestigious award.
