Translating the Humanities and Technologising Translation: Translation Master Lectures cum International Conference on Translation, Culture and Technology (16-19 June 2023)
培文譯德 創科澤群—— 翻譯大師講堂暨翻譯、文化與科技國際研討會（2023年6月16日至19日）
The Hong Kong Translation Society and the Center for Translation Studies of the Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University are delighted to announce the "Translating the Humanities and Technologizing Translation: Translation Master Lectures cum International Conference on Translation, Culture and Technology," to be held in June 16-19, 2023, at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
This international conference aims to bring together scholars, researchers, practitioners and technology service providers from around the globe to exchange new ideas and present their latest research findings in the field of translation studies.
The conference is themed on the profound impact of translation and translation technology on the promotion of literature and the arts, and the fostering of intercultural understanding and communication. It will also feature the release and demonstration of e-platforms for translation and interpreting teaching, self-learning and practice as developed by Hong Kong researchers to assist users in coping with the challenges of the AI era.
The conference will begin with the “Translation Master Lectures,” which underscore the significance of learning from the experience and wisdom of venerable masters in the field. We are honored to have luminaries of academia Prof. Leo Tak-hung Chan, Prof. Douglas Robinson, Prof. Tung Yuan-fang and Prof. Wang Kefei, incoming Honorary Fellows of the Hong Kong Translation Society, and Prof. Lynne Bowker, Prof. Haidee Kotze, Prof. Sara Laviosa and Prof. Jeremy Munday, share their insights on translation.
The Honorary Fellowship Conferment Ceremony will take place on 17 June from 9am to 1pm (registration begins at 8:30am) at the the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and on Zoom. The entire event (except for conference dinner) is free for public attendees but prior registration is required.

香港翻譯學會、香港理工大學中文及雙語學系翻譯研究中心將於2023年6月16日至19日，在香港理工大學舉辦「培文譯德 創科澤群——翻譯大師講堂暨翻譯、文化與科技國際研討會」。
本次國際研討會旨在匯聚世界各地的學者、研究者、專業人員和科技服務供應商，共同探討翻譯研究領域的新思路和新發現。
研討會的主題為翻譯及翻譯科技對推動人文學科，以及促進各文化間的理解與溝通的深遠影響。研討會期間亦會展示由香港研究人員開發的口筆譯教學、自主學習和實踐電子平臺，以輔助用家應對人工智能時代的挑戰。
本次國際研討會將以重點項目「翻譯大師講堂」揭開序幕，強調向翻譯學界資深大師汲取經驗和智慧的重要性。我們非常榮幸邀得香港翻譯學會候任榮譽會士陳德鴻教授、道格拉斯·羅賓森教授、童元方教授、王克非教授，以及幾位海外傑出學者Lynne Bowker 教授、Haidee Kotze 教授、Sara Laviosa 教授、Jeremy Munday 教授，分享他們對翻譯的獨到見解。
翻譯學會榮譽會士頒獎禮將於17日上午9點至下午1點於香港理工大學進行，並將同步進行Zoom直播。頒獎禮及會議對公眾免費開放（會議晚宴除外），敬請提前登記。
