This event features the official launch of the video series, Reliving the Past in Dialogue: A History of Translation in Hong Kong , a translation oral history project initiated in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Hong Kong Translation Society and supported by UGC’s Research Matching Grant Scheme.

Apart from premiering the project’s highlight video, the event gathers a panel consisting of interviewees, all notable translation masters and practitioners who witnessed the development of translation over the past 50 years in Hong Kong, together with the interviewers in the project. The invited panelists will share with the audience their perspectives on the translation-related history of Hong Kong and their behind-the-scenes stories.

Another highlight of the event is the conferment ceremony for the titles of President Emeritus and Honorary President of the Hong Kong Translation Society, to Prof. Leo Chan and Mr. Foo-cheung Lo, JP, respectively, for their enduring support and remarkable contribution to the Society.

本次活動將正式發布為慶祝香港翻譯學會50週年而啟動的「翻譯口述歷史研究項目」的成果——「記譯猶新：對話香港翻譯史」視頻系列。本項目亦獲得大學教育資助委員會研究配對補助金計劃的支持。

活動現場將播放視頻系列的精華影片，受訪嘉賓皆為翻譯學界及業界重要人物及大師，見證了香港翻譯過去五十年的起承轉合。活動將邀請視頻系列各受訪嘉賓與採訪者分享他們對與翻譯有關的香港歷史的看法，以及幕後故事。

本次活動亦將頒授香港翻譯學會榮休會長及名譽會長頭銜予陳德鴻教授和羅富昌太平紳士。兩位在過去數十載對學會鼎力支持，貢獻良多。
