Jessie Liu shared with us the advantages and disadvantages of remote interpreting with her own experience. As a Chinese conference interpreter, she provided remote consecutive interpretation for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. She brought a light touch to many important issues in remote interpreting including anxiety, overlong speech processing and technical problems and highlighted the importance of a boothmate. Her interesting narration helped us gain a better understanding of this mode.
