The Hong Kong Translation Society (HKTS) is pleased to report the success of our 2024 Annual General Meeting of, F. C. Lo Scholarships Presentation Ceremony and Luncheon Talk held at Hong Kong Baptist University on 28h September 2024.

The event commenced with the AGM, providing members an opportunity to review the Society's achievements and future plans. Following this, eight outstanding translation students across eight Hong Kong universities received the F. C. Lo Scholarships. This tradition, upheld by Mr. Lo since 2009-10 through our Society, aims to promote translation as a discipline in tertiary institutions.

After a delightful lunch, our invited speaker, Professor Serena Jin, President Emeritus and Honorary Fellow of HKTS, and recipient of the “Lifetime Achievement Award in Translation Culture" by the Translators Association of China, delivered a Luncheon Talk titled "Those Were the Days". She shared memorable moments from HKTS's 20th-anniversary celebrations and honored the achievements of renowned translators.

We concluded the day with a vibrant networking session, providing an excellent opportunity to build connections, reflect on our experiences, and plan for the future.
